Reading Journal and Scrapbook Page Ideas with Printable Clipart
Page ideas for reading journals, garden journals and scrapbooks using PNG clipart – book trackers, seasonal spreads, nature logs, layouts and printing tips.
Clipart turns a plain notebook page into something you want to come back to. Print an illustration, cut it out or print it straight onto the page, and build the layout around it.
Reading journal pages
- Book tracker: put a cozy scene at the top of the page and list the books underneath with a star rating. The reading nook illustrations include a window seat, a library bay and a train compartment, so you can match the scene to the kind of book.
- Monthly reading spread: one nook per month, with the month's books, favourite quote and pages read.
- Book club invitation: place a café booth scene next to the date, time and book title.
Garden and nature journals
- Night garden log: pair a moth and flower scene with notes on what's blooming in the evening. The moth botanical bundle covers evening primrose, moonflower, four o'clocks and night phlox.
- Planting planner: small tool illustrations beside each task: sowing, pruning, watering.
- Seashore walk: a tide pool scene with notes on the date, tide time and what you found.
Scrapbook layouts
- Holiday pages: use a seasonal illustration as the anchor, then add photos around it.
- Recipe pages: jam jars, fruit and kitchen objects beside a family recipe.
- Trip pages: camping graphics with a map, ticket stubs and photos.
How to print for journals
- Print onto paper, then cut and glue: works with any notebook. Use matte paper so the page doesn't curl.
- Print straight onto a page: for loose-leaf or disc-bound journals, feed the page through the printer.
- Sticker paper: for clean edges, print on sticker paper and cut around the art (see the Print Then Cut sticker guide).
A 2–4 in illustration is a good size for a standard A5 journal. These bundles are 4500 px wide, so they stay sharp even at full-page size.
Layout tips
- Leave space. One illustration and a few lines of writing look better than a full page.
- Repeat colours from the artwork in your pens and washi tape.
- Put the illustration on the outer edge of the page so it isn't lost in the spine.
Can I sell journal pages with the art?
You can sell physical journals and printed pages you make. You can't sell printable journal pages or digital planners containing the art, because the buyer would receive the art itself. See the license page.
